One App, Full Access: How HybridAF and StreamFit Are Simplifying Unattended Access and Gym Management

When Scott Panchik first switched to StreamFit—which was a new gym management software on the market at the time— it didn’t yet integrate with HybridAF.

This could have been a serious challenge for Panchik, a nine-time CrossFit Games veteran and the long-time owner of CrossFit Mentality in Mentor, OH, as he and his members have relied on unattended access through HybridAF since 2018.

The problem was quickly resolved as HybridAF and StreamFit collaborated to ensure seamless integration, allowing the CrossFit Mentality community to use a single, all-in-one app.

  • “It was pretty quick. They made it happen and that just speaks volumes to their developers. They were able to collaborate with the StreamFit [team] and got the integration done right away,” Panchik said. “It’s a win-win for everyone.”

Making things happen, and maybe them happen quickly, to make gym owners’ lives easier is something StreamFit founder Dustin Bosscher takes pride in.

  • “At StreamFit, we’re committed to giving gyms every tool they need to thrive. Our seamless integration with HybridAF opens the door for members to train anytime, turning unused hours into new revenue streams. It’s about maximizing every minute your gym has to offer, and unlocking the full potential of your community,” Bosscher said.

The Integration Details

Today, the two platforms—StreamFit and HybridAF—work together on either iOS or Android to provide unattended access.

For gym members, the user experience is fully embedded into the StreamFit app, so they can use their StreamFit app to access the gym without ever having to download the HybridAF app, as well. Because nobody likes a one-off app, Panchik explained.

Further, members can purchase their membership—either a one-time day pass or a week pass for a drop-in or visitor, ongoing access for members, or even one-time pass for a vendor needing to make a delivery—as well as fill out the waiver on the StreamFit app, and are then granted access to the facility through a virtual key without the gym owner having to lift a finger.

  • “The integration gives people lots of options,” Panchik added.

What Other Gym Owners are Saying

Chris Romeo, the owner of Rising Fitness & Nutrition in Cape Coral, Florida, started using StreamFit two-and-a-half years ago, and then added HybridAF six months after that.

He calls the integration between the two systems “seamless,” and has high praise for both systems individually, as well.

  • “I love the customization of StreamFit and that they are always adding more features. I can do everything I can think of from the app,” he said.

As for HybridAF, Romeo appreciates no longer having to get keys cut for coaches and members, and it provides more flexibility both to members and to himself, and it has added an additional revenue source for the business.

Leah Wheeler, the owner of Five Alarm Fitness in Bloomington, Illinois started using HybridAF at the start of 2022, and in October 2023, she switched to StreamFit.

Like for Panchik, the process for Wheeler was “incredibly easy,” she said.

  • “It was easier to integrate these two systems than it was with Zen Planner when we used them,” she said.

Further, StreamFit software is easy to use, does everything she needs, and is reasonably priced, Wheeler explained.

  • We don’t get dinged for growing our membership base (by having to pay more like with some other software companies) and they are constantly improving things and taking feedback from customers,” she said.

Wheeler added:“I truly appreciate that with the integration with StreamFit, I don’t need to utilize both apps. It’s a one-stop shop.”

Tiffani Arndt, the owner of CrossFit Ground Up in Hastings, Nebraska mimicked Wheeler’s sentiment.

She began offering unattended access to her members through HybridAF five years ago and switched to StreamFit two years ago, and says the integration between the two has been “seamless.”

  • “It’s one of the reasons I changed systems,” Arndt said, adding that she also appreciates that both StreamFit and HybridAF give off a “small company feel with big company features.”

As for HybridAF, Arndt said “it’s easy, affordable” and has been a huge client retention tool for her gym.

The Bottom Line: The HybridAF-StreamFit Combo Works

As a result, Wheeler said she recommends the HybridAF-StreamFit combo to “anyone who asks.”

  • “We have been 100 percent satisfied with both platforms and their ease of use. The customer service from both has also been fantastic. In today’s world, that part alone goes a long way for me,” she said.

Arndt, too, said the cost and the integration between the two platforms makes recommending them a no-brainer.

  • “The cost of the previous systems I used just kept going up and up,” she said. “The service for both HybridAF and StreamFit is top notch. And if there is an issue with either of them, it’s minutes to get a response.”

“Nothing needs to change in terms of how they work together,” she added.
